After that impressive night, we need to depart to Reykjavik and prepare to go back home. Along the way, we visited Hraunfossar - Another unique waterfall - It looks like water is pouring from roots of those trees. After complete to explore of this attraction, we arrived in Reykjavik, visited Hallgrimskirkja and had some nice local food before we depart tomorrow. You can go inside but if you want to get to the top, you need to pay for permission. Our last dinner in Iceland. Food is so delicious and expensive. Anyway, it's last dinner here. Let's order for more food. Haha. We went to the accommodation and spend last night in Reykjavik. Last attraction before we left Iceland is The Famous "Blue lagoon" You need to buy the ticket at the front or online and then you will receive the wristband which is access to get in. After get in, you will need to take a bath first and put your things in the locker. Let's roll ! Our final group photo in Iceland ! The blue lagoon will provide you free mud to mask your face. Quite funny when you see your friends with mud. lol. It also has sauna there and beverages. At the end of the day, we went to the car rental company and paid for remaining cost. We suggested you to buy car insurance because if anything happen, the cost is not cheap at all (One of the highest living cost in the world). Tips: Before departure, don't forget to claim your VAT at the airport from your shopping in Iceland. We visit the counter to claim our VAT at the airport. However, the price of your shopping things need to be higher than criteria to get VAT back (You may need to check for the update) And that is The End of our journey. Aurora ribbons behind clouds. We did not care and keep adjusting our camera to get the best shot. You know, we have tons of aurora photos. If we combine all of our photos, you will see auroras are moving. Auroras on that night is very strong, we can see with our bare eyes!!! Such a beautiful color and amazing phenomena. Our dream finally come true with this strong Kp index. Can you see that red color on the rim of aurora ? That means aurora is so strong. Normally, it will be just a green color. Aurora kept coming for several hours. I really impressed on that house and aurora.....One day, we will meet again ^^

Next one is the most famous place and a signature of Iceland. The "Kirkjufells" You can see picture of this place everywhere so we tried something different. Other angle of this place so you can imagine what is this place look like. [If you pan your camera to the left, you will see this waterfall] After departed from Kirkjufell to Hellissandur town, you will drive along the sea. Here is one of the nice spot to take picture. Nice spot for photographers beside the road to Hellissandur We got rest at that town and got ready for tomorrow that will come. (No aurora on that night)

And then one of our team said "I think I saw something green but it very light green" We brought all of our cameras out and checked by setting long exposure and took picture..... andddddd It's aurora !!! One of our bucket list has been checked !!! As mentioned, that's night had quite amount of cloud. When wind came, cloud came and we cannot see aurora anymore. Anyway, we saw it and it's very impressive experience. Although sky has very light green or white spot, check with your camera. Aurora cannot be seen easily with your own eyes if it's not real strong (High Kp index) Actually we may not missed aurora in last 8 nights but we just don't know it's aurora ! Several nights had high Kp index but we did not check with camera because we thought it can be seen with our eyes. This is a lesson learn for us and we will keep check every single night. Next day, we departed to Hvitserkur. One of Iceland landmark. They say it's a dragon, dinosaur, troll....depends on your imagination. For us, we think it's more like a mammoth.

We planned to spend whole day in this town.....Next destination is Botanical Garden. For some of us who like nature. This place is heaven ! A lot of flowers and plants that we never seen before. Let's picture tell story (⁀ᗢ⁀) Pink lupin We chilled out in this town. However, the trip must go on. We departed to Skagaströnd where we booked a guesthouse. When arrived, we checked in, took a shower and waited for aurora. We waited for a big while, looking around the sky but could not see any green light. Some of us went to bed with sadness. Some kept checking aurora forecast. Although Kp index from aurora forecast is high (index that can tell how strong of aurora is), our place had a lot cloud and could not see anything.

Not far from main road to to "Akureyri", it has a Goðafoss. Another bigggg waterfall. I don't know why but I really like this fall. This website is a really good travel guide to go Iceland But as I said, don't need to have much detail....have some unknown make the trip more fun and adventure. It's dinner time again. So hungry after visited several places today. Time flew by so fast when you travel. Some of us woke up at night and looked at the sky, waiting for auroras borealis but no auroras on the sky except sparkling start all over it. After a while, we saw shooting star and we wished for auroras. "Let us see auroras soon" Day 8 We went to Akureyri, small town in the north but very lovely. If you notice the traffic light, you will see something special ❤️❤️. We will not spoil you ^^ We started the day at The Church of this town. "Akureyrarkirkja" Inside of this church is beautiful ! It makes our mind peaceful.

Today we went to Hverir. One of the most mysterious place we have ever seen. This is another place where you can see the power of geothermal in Iceland. Is this place on the Earth or Mars ? Anyway, it has quite strong smell so it may be not good to spend much time here. We went out from there and continued our journey. Around Mývatn lake, there are many attractions to visit. For example, Grjótagjá Cave, Mývatn Nature Baths, Krafla, Hverfjall, Aldeyjarfoss. You need to spend a few nights to explore all of the area. For us, we decided to visit only some places to go to another town. Grjótagjá Cave Hverfjall area.

We kept driving and found an attraction point that we never known before. This place is Ásbyrgi Canyon. It's so beautiful in Autumn ! This place make us realize that sometimes you don't need to find a lot of information when you travel. Spare some time and explore a place where you don't know. It's much more beautiful with your own eyes. We will stay in a tent tonight ! We shouted with happiness. However, we never done it again during our stay in Iceland......It's soooo colddddd in autumnnnn. But it may be good for the summer (or not?). Tips: Never think of staying in a tent in Iceland (in cold season) ! We looked for northern light every night and checked aurora forecast via https://en.vedur.is/weather/forecasts/aurora/ but we still cannot see it after several nights. We started to think that if we still cannot see aurora in 3-4 night before depart Iceland, we will pursue the aurora although we have to drive at night !!!
